OpenAI's AI Deployment Engineering (ADE) team ensures safe and effective deployment of generative AI applications for developers and enterprises. As Manager of AI Deployment Engineering for Large Enterprise customers across EMEA, you will lead the technical success of OpenAI's most strategic customers, managing the entire implementation journey and ensuring seamless platform integration.
You will own the strategy and operating model of the Large Enterprise ADE team, ensuring alignment with company objectives and evolving customer needs. You'll lead, build, and mentor a high-performing team of ADEs to deliver exceptional customer outcomes, measured by live production applications, increased API adoption, and impactful customer stories.
Key responsibilities include serving as the technical advocate for customers, synthesizing their needs to inform Research and Applied Product/Engineering roadmaps. You'll act as the primary technical escalation point during development, fostering trust and maintaining direct communication with executive-level stakeholders. You'll also serve as an industry thought leader, championing safe and innovative applications of AI technology across various sectors.
Ideal candidates have 8+ years in technical customer-facing roles managing C-level relationships with complex global organizations, and 2+ years leading technical post-sales teams with demonstrated ability to hire, develop, and manage technical talent. Experience leading complex implementations of generative AI or traditional ML solutions to production for large enterprises is essential, along with knowledge of network and cloud architecture. You should be an effective communicator who can translate business and technical topics to all audiences and mentor others to do the same. A humble attitude, eagerness to help others, and willingness to acquire missing knowledge are valued.
The role is open in London and Munich offices with a hybrid work model of 3 days in-office per week. Relocation assistance is available for new employees.
