Valar Atomics is a Series A advanced nuclear energy company building scalable, factory-made nuclear systems to power industry, hydrogen production, and next-generation manufacturing. The company is constructing its first pilot plant in Orangeville, Utah and is seeking a Legal Operations Specialist to build the operational backbone of the legal function as the company scales.
Reporting to the General Counsel, this role owns critical legal operations workstreams that enable the legal team to move fast without sacrificing rigor. Key responsibilities include managing the company's capitalization table (equity issuances, option grants, exercises, vesting schedules) using tools like Pulley or Carta; drafting, reviewing, and managing NDAs and routine commercial agreements; owning entity management and corporate housekeeping for the company and subsidiaries (formation, foreign qualification, dissolution, compliance filings); managing corporate insurance programs including D&O, general liability, property, and cyber insurance; leading implementation and administration of a contract lifecycle management (CLM) system with workflow design and user training; building and maintaining legal playbooks, templates, and standard operating procedures; tracking corporate compliance calendars and regulatory filing deadlines, including export control processes (ITAR, EAR, DOE Part 810); assisting with board and stockholder matters; and identifying opportunities to improve legal operations as the company scales.
This is a ground-floor opportunity to build legal infrastructure at a fast-growing hard-tech company with significant autonomy and ownership. The role works cross-functionally with Finance, HR, and business teams to support the company's rapid growth and regulatory compliance needs in the nuclear energy sector.
