Mistral is building full-stack AI solutions—from frontier models to developer tools and applications—serving enterprises across finance, manufacturing, defense, healthcare, and the public sector. As the first Learning & Development Lead on the People team, you will establish the foundation for learning culture and capabilities to support the company's growth across distributed teams in Europe, North America, Asia, and the Middle East.
You will develop and execute a comprehensive L&D strategy aligned to business objectives, assessing skill gaps and designing onboarding, upskilling, and reskilling programs. Key responsibilities include building scalable learning paths for career progression, sourcing and curating external content and partnerships, and collaborating with leaders to identify high-potential employees and create development plans. You will select, configure, and roll out a Learning Management System, ensuring adoption and integration with HR and IT systems. You'll also establish metrics to measure L&D impact on organizational performance.
The ideal candidate brings at least 8 years of HR experience, with significant time in tech startups or high-growth companies. You should have proven ability to build and manage L&D functions across multiple countries, strong background implementing and managing Learning Management Systems, and experience designing training programs for diverse teams and roles. Knowledge of instructional design and adult learning theory is essential. You'll need excellent communication, influence, and stakeholder management skills, a strong analytical mindset, and the ability to adapt and turn strategy into action in a dynamic, low-ego, team-spirited environment.
