Step is a fintech company on a mission to improve the financial future of the next generation, now backed by Beast Industries (MrBeast's company). They're seeking an experienced Visual Designer to define and evolve Step's visual identity across all customer touchpoints—from product and marketing campaigns to physical cards, merchandise, social media, and brand experiences.
In this role, you'll own Step's visual identity and ensure cohesive, intentional experiences across product, marketing, and brand. You'll work at the intersection of design, product, and marketing, collaborating closely with Product Design, Marketing, Engineering, and Leadership.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning and evolving Step's visual identity across every customer touchpoint
- Designing compelling creative for product launches, lifecycle marketing, social media, advertising, web, and email
- Producing high-impact static and motion assets for paid channels (social, search, display, CTV)
- Partnering with Product Design to ensure consistent visual language throughout the app and product ecosystem
- Defining, documenting, and maintaining brand guidelines that evolve with the company
- Building scalable visual systems that enable designers and marketers to work efficiently
- Raising quality standards through thoughtful critique, art direction, and mentorship
- Exploring new visual directions, illustrations, motion, photography, and emerging trends
- Helping define how AI can accelerate creative exploration and production while maintaining quality
- Championing craftsmanship in every detail
You should have significant experience designing visual identities, marketing campaigns, and digital experiences for consumer brands. A strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional visual craft across branding, marketing, digital products, and storytelling is essential. Deep understanding of typography, layout, color, composition, illustration, photography, and motion is required. Experience building and documenting visual identity systems that scale across teams and channels, plus strong understanding of how brand and product work together, are critical.
Preferred qualifications include experience with consumer fintech or regulated consumer products, designing physical products (payment cards, packaging, merchandise), illustration or motion design, creating design systems spanning product and brand, art directing photography or video, and building AI-assisted creative workflows.
