Taskrabbit is a marketplace platform connecting people with Taskers for everyday home services like furniture assembly, handyman work, and moving help. The company is owned by IKEA and operates globally with a hybrid workforce. You will own the visual identity and art direction for Taskrabbit's brand across all touchpoints—marketing, product, and partner channels. This is a high-impact role at the center of the company's next growth phase, where you'll define how Taskrabbit looks and feels globally. Key Responsibilities: **Art Direction & Visual Identity**: Set and evolve Taskrabbit's global visual identity through brand guidelines and campaign style guides. Own end-to-end art direction for high-budget, high-visibility brand campaigns from concept through final delivery. Lead photo and video shoots as art director, briefing production partners, directing on set, and guiding post-production. Develop powerful, conceptual campaign ideas that drive brand awareness and engagement. **Visual Design System & Creative Engine**: Translate brand strategy into a scalable visual design system with templates, layout principles, and style guidance for designers, contractors, and partners. Partner with cross-functional teams to adapt visual concepts for platform-specific formats (email, social, OOH, video, in-store signage, landing pages) while maintaining unified brand appearance. Collaborate with product designers to align marketing and product visuals. Design and produce assets directly for day-to-day channel needs alongside directing larger productions. Balance high-level art direction with hands-on execution. Implement new design processes for efficiency and consistency as the brand scales. Maintain and optimize Taskrabbit's asset library. **Campaign & Production Leadership**: Lead campaign-building discussions with stakeholders to align on visual concept and execution. Generate original campaign and visual concepts rooted in cultural moments and customer insights. Direct illustration, icon, motion, and photography work to a consistently high creative bar. **Scale Creative Team Output**: Coach and onboard team members on creative tools, systems, art direction principles, and process. Lead design discussions and keep the team current on design trends and best practices. Contribute to evolving AI-enabled creative workflows to increase speed without compromising quality. **Measurement & Optimization**: Understand how visual designs perform against engagement, retention, and conversion goals, and use insights to sharpen creative decisions. Communicate with stakeholders to set timelines, gather feedback, and move projects to completion. The role operates on a hybrid schedule requiring two days of in-office collaboration per week, based in either San Francisco or New York City. **Requirements:** - 5+ years of experience in creative marketing, brand design, or art direction - Portfolio demonstrating strong design craft and art direction, including photo/video shoots led from concept through post-production with proven campaign results - Proven experience directing photo and video productions: briefing production teams, directing talent and crew on set, guiding post-production - Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud and Figma - Illustration and icon design skills - Motion graphics or animation skills - Strong understanding of type, visual hierarchy, and building/enforcing brand style guides across growing teams - Strong verbal and written communication; able to sell creative vision to leadership and give clear direction to collaborators - Experience adapting design and visual assets for global brands, including localization across markets - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple concurrent productions and campaigns - Track record of originating campaign concepts, not just executing briefs - Passion for solving visual design problems and ability to show multiple creative directions quickly **Desired Experience:** - Directing large-scale or high-budget brand campaigns (OOH, CTV, partner co-branded work) - Building and scaling visual design systems or template libraries for fast-growing teams - Familiarity with content performance metrics and using data to inform creative decisions - Exposure to AI tools for creative development and workflow efficiency - Mentoring or managing junior designers or contractors - Comfort operating in fast-paced, remote environments managing multiple projects - Bias toward action, moving fast, learning and iterating quickly - Strong point of view held loosely; pitches bold creative ideas with conviction but adapts based on feedback - Cross-functional flexibility moving between high-level strategy and hands-on production
