Deepgram is the leading platform for Voice AI, providing real-time APIs for speech-to-text, text-to-speech, and voice agents at scale. The company serves over 200,000 developers and 1,300+ organizations, including Twilio, Cloudflare, and others. Deepgram has processed over 50,000 years of audio and transcribed more than 1 trillion words. You will own the design execution for Playground and Console—the primary surfaces where developers first encounter Deepgram. These interfaces are undergoing significant redesigns with steady UI work ahead. You'll work alongside senior designers on feature-level work, taking assigned pieces end to end once direction is established, and flexibly supporting whichever surface needs design capacity that week. This role is deliberately broad: you'll build fluency in the design system, developer audience, and product faster than specializing on a single surface, freeing senior designers to focus on strategic problems only they can solve. You'll report directly to the Director of Product Design. Your initial focus will be feature-level UI across Playground and Console, built on Cosmos, the company's design system. Key responsibilities: - Design and refine UI across Playground and Console from defined problems and general solution directions - Support senior designers on feature work, executing assigned pieces end to end with minimal guidance once approach is set - Pick up design work wherever capacity is needed across product surfaces - Apply Cosmos consistently and exercise judgment on edge cases the system doesn't yet address - Document the reasoning behind decisions so they're legible to team and engineering - Give regular updates, present rationale in critique, and provide meaningful peer feedback - Use AI and design tooling in daily work and share learnings with the team Deepgram operates with an AI-first mindset. All team members actively use and experiment with advanced AI tools; this is core to how the company operates, innovates, and measures performance. Change is rapid, and you should expect your day-to-day work to evolve quickly. The company moves at the pace of AI. REQUIREMENTS: - Strong UI craft with a portfolio demonstrating clear visual and interaction judgment - Experience taking feature-level work end to end, from direction through production handoff - Fluency working inside a design system with judgment to know when a pattern doesn't fit - Clear written communication, including reasoning behind decisions - Comfort with technical or abstract product surfaces - AI tools already in your daily practice, with a view on where they help NICE TO HAVE: - Experience designing for developers or technical users (APIs, SDKs, documentation, console workflows) - Exposure to B2B SaaS with both self-serve and enterprise motions - Prototyping skills beyond static screens - Experience contributing to a design system, not just consuming one - Curiosity about voice, audio, or real-time products
