Samsara (NYSE: IOT) is the Connected Operations Cloud platform helping organizations in agriculture, construction, field services, transportation, and manufacturing digitally transform their physical operations using IoT data. The Brand & Creative team operates as an internal agency, moving fast across brand, communication, digital, film/video, motion graphics, and photography.
You'll own video projects end-to-end—from pre-production through post. This is a hands-on role where you'll shoot and edit most work yourself, with freelance support on larger productions. Your portfolio will span documentary-style customer stories shot on job sites, product films explaining complex technology, and brand work with emotional resonance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Shooting and editing films across marketing, sales, product, customer, recruiting, and corporate communications
- Leading productions end-to-end, solving ambiguous problems across multiple teams
- Shaping narrative, pacing, and visual direction from brief through execution
- Managing color, sound mix, finishing, and delivery across formats (social, vertical cutdowns, etc.)
- Influencing Samsara's broader visual media direction and creative strategy
- Identifying production bottlenecks and defining solutions
- Building alignment across teams on complex video initiatives
- Pitching new visual concepts to push creative work forward
- Building realistic timelines and communicating through review cycles
- Sourcing and managing freelance support
- Partnering with Motion Design to ensure cohesive brand experience
- Owning media management (backups, archive, storage) and equipment inventory
- Serving as brand steward on every production
You'll need 8+ years in video production and strategy, with advanced skills in documentary storytelling, large-scale cross-functional project leadership, and 4K+ workflows. Expertise required in Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Media Encoder (advanced) and After Effects (intermediate). Deep knowledge of cameras, lighting, audio, A/V gear, and video/audio codecs essential. Bachelor's degree minimum. Based within 90 minutes of SF headquarters with ability to travel up to 35%.
