You will be the first Total Rewards lead for the Americas region, owning compensation, benefits, and equity programs end-to-end across the US, Canada, Brazil, and Mexico. This is a build role as Airwallex actively scales and rebuilds its rewards programs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and execute Americas compensation strategy: salary structures, pay differentials, market positioning, merit cycles, and senior hire offers
- Manage the complete benefits lifecycle: plan design, annual renewals, broker and carrier negotiations
- Partner with the global rewards team on equity plan mechanics and governance
- Lead Total Rewards initiatives across the Americas and globally, including IPO readiness workstreams
- Own regional governance and compliance, including pay equity, pay transparency requirements across US states and Canada, and statutory obligations in Brazil and Mexico
- Use market data and benchmarking to influence senior stakeholders and translate complex analysis into clear recommendations
- Build rewards capability across the region by coaching People Partners, recruiters, and managers; hire and develop team members as the region grows
- Partner cross-functionally with Talent Acquisition, People Partners, Payroll, Finance, Legal, and executive leadership
You'll work as part of a small global team with close partnerships in Singapore and China, with the opportunity to grow a team in the Americas as the company scales.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in total rewards, compensation, or benefits, including significant experience supporting Americas-based populations
- Experience building or managing a complete rewards program (compensation, benefits, equity) at regional or global level
- End-to-end benefits process management, including broker and insurance carrier negotiations
- Strong compensation data analytics capability; ability to own annual market review cycles and influence executive-level pay strategy
- Proven ability to build models and projections
- Working knowledge of US stock administration and equity compensation (RSUs, vesting mechanics)
- Experience at late-stage private or pre-IPO company, or through transition to public markets with equity program changes
- Experience leading cross-functional projects with senior stakeholders and mentoring/managing rewards professionals
Preferred qualifications:
- Multi-region rewards experience, especially with global frameworks set outside your time zone
- Familiarity with compensation and equity tools (Carta, BambooHR, Workday) and survey sources (Radford, Compensia)
- Experience standing up a rewards function or team in a new region
- Comfort operating at high standards, fast pace, under pressure, with evolving priorities and bias toward building solutions
