Voyager Technologies is seeking a Systems Engineer to lead the development and evolution of propulsion testing capabilities for advanced vertical takeoff and landing (VTVL) vehicles and lunar systems. Reporting to the Systems Engineering Manager at the Mojave, CA facility, you will work side-by-side with cross-functional engineering teams to guide detailed technical design, development, integration, and testing of propulsion systems and vehicle hardware/software solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and guiding technical design, development, integration, and testing for advanced propulsion and VTVL systems
- Developing concept of operations, mission and system requirements, design configurations, and technical budgets
- Conducting trade studies and identifying launch vehicle requirements
- Defining fault management, interface control, and verification & validation strategies
- Identifying technical risks and mitigation plans
- Preparing and delivering technical documentation, reports, and presentations
- Leading technical demonstrations during concept and engineering development phases
- Supporting technical proposals for mission and technology development opportunities
- Communicating with partners and customers to resolve technical challenges
Required qualifications:
- B.S. in Engineering or related technical field plus 5+ years of relevant space mission experience with demonstrated leadership roles
- Demonstrated experience in multiple areas: liquid propellant rocket systems, propulsion systems, avionics/electronics, software engineering, embedded systems, systems engineering, systems integration/test, verification & validation, or configuration management
- Proven experience as technical lead implementing full lifecycle of design, development, manufacturing, testing, and operations
- Hands-on hardware experience required
Preferred qualifications include experience developing liquid propellant rocket propulsion systems from feasibility through flight operations, knowledge of manufacturing and V&V plans, AS9100/ISO9000 environment experience, agile/Confluence/Jira familiarity, requirements management tools (Jama), and knowledge of relevant aerospace regulations (14 CFR Part 450, AFSPCMAN 91-710, ARP4761).
