Halter is a venture-backed agtech company transforming livestock grazing through autonomous hardware and software. The company enables farmers and graziers to run more productive and sustainable operations without traditional fencing, quad bikes, or herding dogs.
You will lead supplier quality management across Halter's manufacturing supply chain, ensuring every component meets quality standards and delivery timelines. This role is critical as hardware production accelerates to serve growing global markets, particularly in APAC. You'll work closely with contract manufacturers in Asia to guarantee components withstand demanding farm environments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Implementing statistical process control methods for critical parts manufacturing and collaborating with suppliers on process control plans
- Conducting rapid root-cause analysis sprints with design engineers when production or quality issues arise, balancing risk mitigation with production continuity
- Updating and implementing quality control documentation based on field failures and audit findings
- Auditing supplier compliance with Halter quality requirements and driving closure of non-conformances
- Managing supplier relationships to achieve quality outcomes in a fast-scaling environment
You'll be part of a high-performance team solving meaningful problems in a rapidly growing company backed by tier-1 investors including Founders Fund, Bessemer Venture Partners, and DCVC.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of experience in quality management for high-volume manufacturing (electromechanical products preferred)
- Proven ability to respond to and resolve quality issues rapidly while minimizing production disruption
- First-principles thinking and ability to identify root causes during audits and problem reviews
- Experience working with suppliers to achieve outcomes based on context
- High proficiency in English (written, verbal, reading); Mandarin preferred
- ASQ certification (CQE or CQA) or Internal Auditor Certification beneficial
- Willingness to travel regularly throughout APAC (25%+ of time)
- Ability to thrive in close team environments and self-directed, demanding scaling contexts
- Commitment to staying current with industry standards, methods, and trends
