Klaviyo is seeking a Public Relations Lead to run the press office and drive thought leadership for the company. This role sits at the intersection of marketing trends, media relations, and executive visibility, requiring someone deeply embedded in what's happening in marketing, retail, and commerce.
You will manage day-to-day press operations in partnership with PR agencies, proactively pitching stories, securing high-impact coverage, and building relationships with reporters and influencers across marketing, retail, and commerce. You'll stay plugged into the news cycle, identify newsjacking opportunities, and draft executive statements and comments that can go out same-day. You'll identify and secure speaker opportunities at key industry events and award opportunities to amplify Klaviyo's thought leaders.
Key responsibilities include driving thought leadership programs for the CMO and other key executives, developing compelling points of view and building their presence in market. You'll partner with Customer Marketing to identify customers with compelling stories for press coverage. You'll own the company's thought leadership research arm—the research that fuels storytelling, from shaping the annual Black Friday/Cyber Monday narrative to planning quarterly research publications. You'll bring creative energy to major events like K:BOS and K:LDN, securing press attendance, organizing panelists, and building the brand story around them. Additionally, you'll use and build AI tools to automate and speed up team workflows.
This role requires up to 10% travel for onboarding, team meetings, and industry events.
