Salary: USD 132,000 - 198,000 / annual

Klaviyo is seeking a Public Relations Lead to run the press office and drive thought leadership strategy. This role combines day-to-day media relations with strategic storytelling around marketing trends and ecommerce innovation. You will manage the press office in partnership with PR agencies, proactively pitching stories, securing high-impact coverage, and building relationships with reporters and influencers across marketing, retail, and commerce. You'll stay plugged into marketing and commerce trends, moving fast to newsjack relevant moments and drafting executive statements for same-day deployment. Key responsibilities include: - Run daily press operations, pitching stories and securing earned media coverage - Monitor marketing, commerce, and news cycles; identify and execute timely newsjacking opportunities - Identify and secure speaker opportunities at key industry events and award programs - Develop and execute thought leadership programs for the CMO and other executives, building their market presence - Partner with Customer Marketing to identify compelling customer stories for press - Own the thought leadership research arm, including the annual Black Friday/Cyber Monday narrative and quarterly trend research - Bring creative energy to flagship events (K:BOS, K:LDN), managing press attendance, panelists, and brand storytelling - Use and build AI tools to automate and accelerate team workflows You'll work with a team that values genuine interest in marketing culture, moves fast, and thinks strategically about how Klaviyo fits into broader industry conversations. Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field, or equivalent practical experience - 8+ years of relevant experience in public relations, communications, media relations, or related field, including in-house and/or agency experience - Deep relationships with reporters covering marketing, retail, and commerce; familiarity with emerging channels and influencers - Proven experience running a press office and making independent editorial judgments - Excellent writing skills; ability to turn research and trends into sharp, pitchable narratives and executive talking points - Experience partnering with executives on thought leadership and building their presence in market - Comfort using AI tools to move faster; collaborative, self-starter mindset - Experience supporting marketing, retail, ecommerce, technology, or other consumer-facing industries preferred
