Ramp is building smart infrastructure for finance teams, automating how over $200B in annualized spend flows through 70,000+ companies. The company handles payment authorization, risk flagging, spend categorization, and financial close processes for ambitious organizations.
You will own Ramp's vertical go-to-market operating model, starting with Construction/A&E and Nonprofits/Public Sector. This is a full-cycle business ownership role, not limited to content, campaigns, or sales enablement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Setting vertical portfolio strategy: build business cases, opportunity sizing, and segmentation to guide investment decisions
- Owning vertical business metrics: define scorecards for pipeline, win rate, attach, adoption, activation, and channel performance
- Becoming the market expert: understand financial workflows, buying dynamics, regulatory requirements, technology ecosystems, and competitive landscape for each vertical
- Influencing product roadmap: translate market evidence into product requirements and distinguish table stakes from differentiators
- Building industry-specific narratives: package Ramp's multi-product suite (cards, expenses, AP, procurement, banking, treasury, travel, accounting) around vertical-specific jobs to be done
- Owning end-to-end GTM strategy: define ICP, positioning, claims, proof, channel strategy, launch plans, sales motions, and adoption plans
- Leading market-facing programs: represent Ramp through webinars, customer sessions, partner events, advisory groups, and executive conversations
- Enabling sales: build workflow-based pitch narratives, sales plays, proof points, competitive guidance, and demos
- Running operating cadence: align Product, Growth, Sales, Marketing, Partnerships, and Finance on progress, blockers, learnings, and next steps
- Building feedback loops: develop relationships with finance leaders, operators, ERP/implementation partners, associations, and field sellers
- Creating verticalization playbook: build repeatable methodology for taking a vertical from signal to product requirements, GTM package, and scaled investment
Requirements:
- 7+ years in B2B software marketing, product marketing, industry marketing, growth, sales strategy, or strategic GTM function with significant ownership of product or industry outcomes
- Demonstrated experience building GTM strategy for a specific industry or workflow-heavy market with strong verticalization perspective
- Deep familiarity with at least one of: Construction/A&E software, accounting and ERP workflows, nonprofits, public sector, procurement, accounts payable, or financial operations
- Track record influencing product strategy using customer, competitive, market, and funnel evidence
- Experience owning integrated B2B campaigns from audience definition through execution, measurement, and iteration
- Strong data literacy: ability to interpret pipeline, conversion, win rate, attach, adoption, and channel performance metrics and drive decisions
- Exceptional written and verbal communication: can produce business cases for executives, product narratives for markets, and sales plays for customer meetings
- Proven ability to lead senior partners across Product, Growth, Sales, Partnerships, Communications, and Marketing without formal authority
- High agency and comfort with ambiguity; ability to build, test with customers, and iterate quickly
- Fluency with AI tools in research, analysis, writing, and operating workflows
Nice to have:
- Experience at vertical SaaS companies serving construction, accounting, nonprofits, government, or operationally complex industries
- Direct experience with construction ERPs or accounting platforms (Sage, Trimble, Acumatica, Deltek, NetSuite, QuickBooks, Intacct)
- Experience marketing multi-product platforms
- Existing relationships with finance leaders, industry operators, implementation partners, associations, or technology partners in priority verticals
- Experience building new PMM or industry-marketing functions from the ground up
