Mistral is building a sovereign AI cloud and seeking a Lead Product Manager to own the inference portfolio within its Cloud & Inference organization. You will set strategy, write product specs, engage directly with customers running production traffic, and collaborate across inference, infrastructure, and go-to-market teams to drive customer impact. You will operate as a hands-on individual contributor, taking end-to-end ownership of complex product lines including serverless inference, dedicated endpoints, and adjacent services. You will be the first PM fully dedicated to inference and the most senior product hire in this space, reporting to the VP Product - Cloud & Inference and working day-to-day with inference engineering teams in the US and Europe. Key responsibilities include: - Define vision, strategy, and annual goals for the inference portfolio aligned with customer needs and company objectives - Own the full product lifecycle: prioritize, ship, measure, and iterate on serverless inference and dedicated endpoints - Drive adoption, revenue contribution, and gross margin; treat cost-per-token and unit economics as product decisions - Spend significant time with AI-native startups and enterprises to understand production constraints (latency, throughput, compliance, cost) and translate them into roadmap priorities - Partner daily with inference engineering and cloud infrastructure teams on capacity planning, scheduling, routing, and reliability - Track open-source inference advances and emerging model architectures to drive performance and efficiency gains - As the portfolio scales, help shape and grow the inference PM team through hiring, mentoring, and setting product standards Mistral provides full-stack AI solutions from frontier models to developer tools, applications, and compute. The company partners with enterprises in finance, manufacturing, defense, healthcare, and the public sector to co-create customized AI systems. Teams are distributed across Europe, North America, Asia, and the Middle East. REQUIREMENTS: - Deep product experience in tech and infrastructure with a proven track record bringing inference, cloud infrastructure, or large-scale distributed systems to market; hands-on experience building robust, at-scale AI infrastructure - Engineering background before transitioning into product management - Demonstrated success taking an infrastructure or inference product from early stage to material revenue and adoption, owning complex product lines end-to-end - Player-coach disposition: hands-on product work now with appetite to build and coach a team as the organization scales - Fluency in business economics: gross margin, unit economics, and tradeoffs behind token pricing and GPU capacity - High ownership and strong bias for action; ability to prototype with AI coding tools, write specs independently, and unblock yourself - Low ego, comfort with ambiguity, and credibility with executives, engineers, and customers
