WeTravel is a B2B SaaS platform serving 10,000+ multi-day travel businesses (safaris, diving trips, adventure tours) that collectively process $3B in annual travel sales. The company provides an end-to-end operating system for these businesses, handling sales processes, payments, and back-office operations. WeTravel has 400+ employees across 88 countries, with 60-100% YoY growth and financial stability. You will own the checkout experience and monetization strategy as a Senior Product Manager reporting to the Head of Payment Products & Monetization. This is a high-impact individual contributor role with significant scope and autonomy. Checkout is central to WeTravel's business: 80% of revenue flows through it. The role spans multiple complex dimensions. First, a single checkout must serve 10,000 diverse clients with varying needs—some sell thousands of standard packages annually, others sell tens of expensive trips. Clients require different configurations: some want extensive personalization, others prefer stripped-down experiences. Trips vary from monthly recurring to one-time events. Most require installment payment options. The checkout must support 40+ currencies, 30+ payment methods, and four transaction types (full trips, payment links, QR payments, business payments), while maintaining modularity so other teams can integrate features seamlessly. Second, you'll drive monetization through FX markup and traveler upsells (travel insurance, airport transfers, eSIM, visa services). These are win-win opportunities: clients save on currency conversion costs and earn revenue share on insurance; travelers get convenient add-ons; WeTravel captures margin. This requires GM-like thinking across client value, traveler value, vendor partnerships, UX design, fund flows, and cross-functional execution. Year-one goals include: revamping checkout into a flexible, cohesive system optimized for conversion on mobile and desktop; building systematic tracking and optimization for conversion, margin, and other metrics; enabling clients to track performance across demand channels; increasing FX revenue 30-50% through UX and pricing optimization; scaling insurance revenue 30-50% via more choices, geographies, and vendors; piloting and scaling two additional upsell products. You'll need 7+ years of product management experience (10+ ideal) with deep ownership of real outcomes, not just execution. Broad checkout expertise across multiple evolution phases is essential. System thinking to create flexible, multi-purpose solutions is critical—ideally you've built whitelabel eCommerce systems before. You must combine analytical rigor with UX judgment, knowing when testing yields insights versus when intuition suffices. Conversion optimization expertise across mobile and desktop funnels is required. A track record of improving monetization through cross-sell/upsell is highly valued, especially having scaled an upsell from zero to a major revenue source. Nice-to-have skills include pricing expertise on live transactional surfaces, whitelabel eCommerce platform experience (Shopify-like), and cross-domain conversion optimization from advertising.
