Braze is seeking a Lead Product Manager to own the Banners and Content Cards product line—in-product messaging surfaces that reach users inside the app experience. These are persistent, native channels with no opt-in required. Content Cards is mature and widely adopted; Banners is the fastest-growing channel, having scaled from launch to feature parity in under a year and now serving over a billion impressions daily. Braze operates at massive scale, collecting hundreds of billions of data points monthly and sending billions of messages daily. The constraint is no longer capability—it's adoption, programmability, and speed of creation. In your first year, you will focus on: **Adoption & Activation**: Turn shipped capability into activated customers and sustained usage through better defaults, faster time-to-first-banner, self-serve setup, and out-of-the-box integrations (e.g., Shopify). **Intelligent Creation**: Banners already supports drag-and-drop, raw HTML, and AI-generated builds. Braze is investing heavily in Operator, its AI assistant. A core part of this role is ensuring these surfaces work naturally with Operator, enabling marketers to shift from building themselves to letting AI build for them. **Programmability**: Drive REST API parity, translations support, enterprise-grade access scoping, and the path to serving in-product content over a public API without SDK dependency. **Technical Product at Scale**: Own hard technical work—render latency at the 99th percentile, SDK dependencies, unifying the technical foundation. Product judgment and technical judgment are the same judgment here. **Measurement**: Define what good looks like for adoption, usage, and performance; hold the team to real baselines and targets. **Main Responsibilities**: - Define and own the roadmap for Content Cards and Banners, pulling from customers, sales, support, usage data, and competitive signal - Partner with engineers and designers to execute in a lean, entrepreneurial environment - Own commercial outcomes (adoption, consumption, expansion) and understand unit economics for investment tradeoffs - Establish and manage internal and external customer expectations, including enterprise accounts and renewal/expansion conversations - Deeply understand technology, business, customers, and market - Build best-in-class infrastructure, treating reliability, performance, and observability as product requirements - Partner across the division to build reusable capability instead of channel-specific implementations **Requirements**: - 8+ years of Product Management experience, including owning a product line at scale - Strong communication, collaboration, organization, and persuasion skills. This is a senior IC role with no direct reports but significant influence; you'll align engineering, design, and SDK teams without positional authority - Proactive, positive, can-do attitude; drive projects to completion and continuously improve processes and products - Comfortable being technical: reason about client-side rendering, SDK integration, API design, and caching to make real tradeoffs with engineers - Build rich user experiences and work closely with designers; these are content creation products, so authoring experience quality is the product - Data-driven by instinct; go to adoption funnels and usage data before anecdotes; rigorous about baselines - Customer-focused and commercially fluent; understand how your product area drives consumption and expansion; hold credible conversations with enterprise customers - Eagerness to learn and grow **Bonus Experience**: - In-product or embedded messaging surfaces (Inbox, feed, banner, in-app content) - Rich content creation flows (drag-and-drop editors, template systems, WYSIWYG authoring) - Shipping AI features inside existing authoring tools - Products dependent on customer-side SDK integration and adoption dynamics - Strong technical experience and ability to understand and discuss product architecture - High-growth or high-scale technology startup experience (billions of users)
