Braze is seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead the Banners & Content Cards product line—in-product messaging surfaces that reach users inside the app experience. Content Cards is a mature, widely adopted channel; Banners is the newest and fastest-growing, having scaled from launch to feature parity in under a year and now serving over a billion impressions daily.
Braze operates at massive scale, collecting hundreds of billions of data points monthly and sending billions of messages daily. The constraint on this business is no longer capability—it's adoption, programmability, and speed of creation.
In your first year, you will focus on:
**Adoption & Activation**: Transform shipped capability into activated customers and sustained usage through better defaults, faster time-to-first-banner, self-serve setup, and out-of-the-box integrations (e.g., Shopify).
**Intelligent Creation**: Banners already supports drag-and-drop, raw HTML, and AI-generated builds. Braze is investing heavily in Operator, its AI assistant. A core responsibility is ensuring these surfaces work seamlessly with Operator, enabling marketers to shift from building themselves to letting AI build for them.
**Programmability**: Drive REST API parity, translations support, enterprise-grade access scoping, and the path to serving in-product content over a public API without SDK dependency.
**Technical Product at Scale**: Own hard technical work including render latency at the 99th percentile, SDK dependencies, and unified technical foundations. Product judgment and technical judgment are one and the same.
**Measurement**: Define what good looks like for adoption, usage, and performance; establish and hold baselines and targets.
**Main Responsibilities**:
- Define and own the roadmap for Content Cards and Banners, synthesizing customer feedback, sales input, support data, usage analytics, and competitive signals
- Partner with engineers and designers to execute in a lean, entrepreneurial environment
- Own commercial outcomes (adoption, consumption, expansion) and understand unit economics to make sound investment tradeoffs
- Establish and manage internal and external customer expectations, including enterprise accounts and renewal/expansion conversations
- Deeply understand technology, business, customers, and market
- Build best-in-class infrastructure, treating reliability, performance, and observability as product requirements
- Partner across the division to build reusable capability (shared editors, design patterns, APIs) rather than channel-specific implementations
**Requirements**:
- 8+ years of Product Management experience, including owning a product line at scale
- Strong communication, collaboration, organization, and persuasion skills. This is a senior individual contributor role with no direct reports but significant influence; you must align engineering, design, SDK teams, and go-to-market without positional authority
- Proactive, positive, can-do attitude; drive projects to completion and continuously improve processes and products
- Technical comfort: reason about client-side rendering, SDK integration, API design, and caching well enough to make real tradeoffs with engineers
- Build rich user experiences and work closely with designers; understand that the authoring experience is the product
- Data-driven instinct: consult adoption funnels and usage data before anecdotes; be rigorous about baselines
- Customer-focused and commercially fluent; understand how your product area drives consumption and expansion; hold credible conversations with enterprise customers about channel adoption
- Eagerness to learn and grow
**Bonus**:
- Experience with in-product or embedded messaging surfaces (inbox, feed, banner, in-app content)
- Experience building rich content creation flows (drag-and-drop editors, template systems, WYSIWYG authoring)
- Experience shipping AI features inside existing authoring tools
- Experience with products dependent on customer-side SDK integration and adoption dynamics
- Strong technical experience and ability to understand and discuss product architecture
- Experience at high-growth or high-scale technology startups (Braze operates at billions of users scale)
