Braze is seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead the Banners & Content Cards product line, which owns Braze's in-product messaging surfaces. These are persistent, native channels that reach users inside the app experience with no opt-in required. Content Cards is a mature, widely adopted surface; Banners is the newest channel and fastest-growing, having achieved full feature parity with Content Cards in under a year and now serving over a billion impressions daily.
Braze operates at massive scale, collecting hundreds of billions of data points monthly and sending billions of messages to end users daily. The constraint on this business is no longer capability—it's adoption, programmability, and making creation genuinely fast.
In your first year, you will focus on:
**Adoption & Activation**: Turn shipped capability into activated customers and sustained usage through better defaults, faster time to first banner, self-serve setup, and out-of-the-box integrations with platforms like Shopify.
**AI-Powered Creation**: Banners already supports drag-and-drop, raw HTML, and AI-generated options. Braze is investing heavily in Operator, its AI assistant. A core part of this role is making these surfaces work seamlessly with Operator, enabling marketers to shift from building things themselves to letting AI build for them.
**Programmability**: Drive REST API parity, translations support, enterprise-grade access scoping, and the path to serving in-product content over a public API without SDK dependency.
**Technical Product Work at Scale**: Own hard technical challenges including render latency at the 99th percentile, SDK dependencies, and unifying the technical foundation for these channels. Product judgment and technical judgment are the same judgment here.
**Measurement & Baselines**: Define what good looks like for adoption, usage, and performance, and hold the team to real targets.
**Main Responsibilities**:
- Define and own the roadmap for Content Cards and Banners, pulling from customers, sales, support, usage data, and competitive signal
- Partner with engineers and designers to execute in a lean, entrepreneurial environment
- Own commercial outcomes (adoption, consumption, expansion) and understand unit economics to make good investment tradeoffs
- Establish and manage internal and external customer expectations, including with enterprise accounts and in renewal/expansion conversations
- Deeply understand Braze's technology, business, customers, and market
- Build best-in-class infrastructure, treating reliability, performance, and observability as product requirements
- Partner across the division to build reusable capability instead of channel-specific implementations
**Requirements**:
- 8+ years of Product Management experience, including owning a product line at scale
- Strong communication, collaboration, organization, and persuasion skills. This is a senior individual contributor role with no direct reports but significant influence across engineering, design, SDK team, and go-to-market
- Proactive, positive, can-do attitude with ability to drive projects to completion and identify process/product improvements
- Technical comfort: ability to reason about client-side rendering, SDK integration, API design, and caching to make real tradeoffs with engineers
- Experience building rich user experiences and working closely with designers; quality of authoring experience is the product
- Data-driven instinct: go to adoption funnels and usage data before anecdotes; rigorous about baselines
- Customer-focused and commercially fluent; understand how product area drives consumption and expansion; credible conversations with enterprise customers
- Eagerness to learn and grow
**Bonus Experience**:
- In-product or embedded messaging surfaces (inbox, feed, banner, in-app content)
- Rich content creation flows (drag-and-drop editors, template systems, WYSIWYG authoring)
- Shipping AI features inside existing authoring tools
- Products dependent on customer-side SDK integration and adoption dynamics
- Strong technical experience and ability to understand/discuss product architecture
- High-growth or high-scale technology startup experience
