Circle.so is building an all-in-one platform for online digital businesses, enabling creators, coaches, educators, and businesses to bring together their audiences with discussions, live streams, events, chat, courses, and payments—all under their own brand. The company is fully remote with ~275 team members across 30+ countries.
You'll own the Discover product end-to-end as the lead designer. Discover is Circle's two-sided marketplace surface where creators get found and people discover experiences worth their time, spanning communities, courses, events, and more. This is a genuinely novel design challenge centered on AI as the core interaction model—not a filter or widget, but the primary way the platform understands intent and surfaces relevant content.
Key responsibilities:
- Own Discover's design end-to-end: identify opportunities, frame problems, set design direction, and ship work that raises the bar for discovery at Circle.
- Design AI-driven discovery experiences that feel human and relational, not algorithmic. Build interfaces, curation experiences, and trust signals that make AI-driven discovery effortless.
- Serve both sides of the marketplace: understand how creator visibility gets earned and how consumer confidence gets built. Apply systems-level thinking to every design decision.
- Prototype at speed using AI-assisted tools (Cursor, Claude Code, v0, Lovable) to stress-test ideas quickly. Stay in the problem through to launch, working closely with engineers.
- Mentor and elevate the design craft on Discover through your own work and by developing designers alongside you.
You'll work closely with a founder-led product team that has strong vision and high standards. The design team operates with shared context, real ownership, and trust for talented people to do their best work. This role requires deep experience in consumer marketplace products—owning discovery, ranking, and engagement at scale. Background in internal tools, CMS platforms, or growth systems is not a fit for this specific role.
Circle brings the whole company together twice yearly for offsites in beautiful locations around the world. The company doesn't track hours but manages for high expectations closely and collaborates asynchronously across time zones.
