As Lead Product Designer, you will own Motorway's most complex design challenges across the full product lifecycle, from discovery through delivery. This role combines individual design excellence with team leadership and cultural influence—you'll mentor other designers, shape design standards and processes, and be a trusted voice in cross-functional product conversations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Tackling ambiguous, high-impact product problems and transforming them into elegant user experiences for both web and mobile
- Pioneering thoughtful AI integration into design workflows while maintaining human judgment and craft
- Collaborating closely with engineering, product, and data teams—speaking their language through code, prototypes, and custom tools
- Advocating fiercely for users through research, usability testing, and data-driven validation
- Scaling design culture through workshops, team rituals, and fostering diverse perspectives
- Producing high-quality deliverables (flows, wireframes, prototypes, high-fidelity mockups) that meet accessibility and inclusive design standards
- Communicating design decisions with commercial awareness, connecting user insights to business outcomes
- Mentoring junior and senior designers, helping them do the best work of their careers
You bring proven leadership as a Senior or Lead Product Designer with a track record of shipping impactful digital products across web and mobile. You have a builder's instinct—comfortable getting hands-on with code, building functional prototypes, or creating custom tools. You understand both B2C and B2B product landscapes, ideally with marketplace experience. You have a considered, strategic approach to AI in design and strong commercial acumen. You're proficient in modern design tools (Figma, Claude, Kiro) and user-centered methodologies, with experience in conversion optimization and experimentation.
