Circle is building an all-in-one platform for online digital businesses, enabling creators, coaches, educators, and businesses to unite their audiences through discussions, live streams, events, chat, courses, and payments—all under their own brand. The company is fully remote with ~275 team members across 30+ countries, operating with high async collaboration and twice-yearly in-person offsites.
You'll own design for one of Circle's most important product areas end-to-end: defining the problem, shaping direction, and shipping the experience. You'll report into the product design organization as the most senior design IC on your product area, partnering directly with product managers, engineers, and design leadership. As the team grows, you'll raise the bar for designers around you.
Key responsibilities include owning a product area end-to-end—identifying opportunities, framing problems, setting design direction, and shipping as a peer to Product and Engineering. You'll design complex, multi-step flows serving multiple user types, balancing creator needs against member experience. You'll prototype and test at speed using AI-assisted tools and code-generation workflows. You'll influence product strategy beyond your surface, contribute to roadmap conversations, and drive craft standards through interaction design and visual quality. Close collaboration with engineers and design engineers is essential to turn concepts into shippable experiences. You'll also raise the bar for the broader design team through feedback and shared frameworks.
Circle's design team works with AI tools daily—exploring directions, prototyping, and stress-testing ideas faster than traditional workflows. The company is looking for someone who already works this way and wants to push it further.
Required: 5–7+ years of product design experience with a portfolio showing systems-level thinking, shipped 0→1 work, complex multi-user flows, and evidence of shaping product direction. You must have operated as the most senior designer on a product area, setting direction and owning outcomes. Strong prototyping skills (building clickable, realistic prototypes yourself) and Figma proficiency are essential. Exceptional written and verbal communication is critical for async alignment in a distributed team. You're comfortable designing in ambiguity, building conviction through iteration, and have an active, evolving AI workflow integrated into your design process.
