Wealthsimple, Canada's leading fintech serving 4+ million customers with $125B+ in assets under administration, is seeking a Lead for People Operations - Process Design to drive transformation across the People Systems & Operations team.
You'll own end-to-end process mapping and redesign for the company's highest-priority people initiatives, with a focus on AI-enabled automation and workflow optimization. This is a hybrid consulting, project management, and hands-on builder role that sits at the intersection of People operations and technology systems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Map and optimize workflows across the employee lifecycle, eliminating friction and manual work
- Diagnose root causes of bottlenecks (process flaws, systems limitations, change management gaps)
- Establish scalable documentation, handoff standards, and governance frameworks
- Translate business challenges into technical requirements for the People Systems team, identifying where AI agents, LLM tools, or Workday workflows deliver highest ROI
- Apply practical judgment about when to use AI, standard automation, or process simplification
- Define baseline and target metrics (cycle time, throughput, error rates, cost savings) and track post-launch impact
- Collaborate with IT, People Systems, and People Analytics on data architecture and feedback loops
- Facilitate high-stakes alignment workshops and drive change management across cross-functional groups
- Elevate the broader People team's technical fluency through experiments and shared tools
Required qualifications:
- 5+ years in People Operations, HR transformation, process excellence, management consulting, or related fields in complex, scaling organizations
- Strong working knowledge of Workday (data model, workflows, capabilities) sufficient to translate process problems into Workday-based solutions and write requirements
- Practical fluency with AI tools and agentic workflows; understanding of how AI agents are built (prompting, tool/function calling, system integration)
- Strong systems-thinking capability connecting strategy, operations, employee experience, data, and technology
- Excellent facilitation skills for running workshops with skeptical stakeholders
- Ability to move fluidly between strategic framing and hands-on execution
- Clear, concise written communication for translating operational complexity into technical and stakeholder narratives
