H1 is building a platform to democratize access to healthcare information globally, using data and AI to unlock medical insights and improve patient outcomes. As a People Business Partner, you'll serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership while owning several of H1's most impactful people programs.
You'll partner closely with the SVP of People and business leaders to shape organizational strategy, develop leaders, and build scalable people practices. This role balances executive partnership with hands-on execution—coaching leaders through complex people challenges, using data to drive decisions, and continuously improving the employee experience across the entire employee lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include: partnering with senior leaders to develop people strategies that improve organizational effectiveness and leadership capability; influencing H1's performance management philosophy and annual processes, including goal setting, calibration, reviews, promotions, and performance improvement plans; designing and leading key people programs such as onboarding, manager development, 360 feedback, and engagement surveys; managing the biannual Culture Amp engagement survey process and translating organizational health metrics into actionable recommendations; coaching managers through complex employee relations matters, organizational change, and career development conversations; leading employee relations investigations and resolving sensitive issues; driving continuous improvement of employee experience through onboarding, buddy programs, exit interview analysis, and culture-building initiatives; partnering cross-functionally with Recruiting, Finance, Legal, and executive leadership on workforce planning and organizational design; providing strategic oversight of the NYC employee experience; and mentoring members of the People team.
You're a strategic HR leader who builds credibility through thoughtful coaching, sound judgment, and genuine desire to help leaders and employees succeed. You balance long-term strategy with hands-on execution and are energized by building programs with lasting organizational impact. You're a trusted advisor who builds strong relationships at every level, comfortable navigating ambiguity in fast-growing environments, and equally confident coaching senior leaders or facilitating difficult conversations. You're data-driven, using engagement surveys and HR metrics to influence decisions, and an exceptional communicator who can influence without authority. You'll be NYC-based and collaborate in the office three days per week.
