Snowflake is seeking an experienced Lead, Payroll Operations to support the APAC region from Pune, India. This role combines direct operational execution with supervisory oversight of payroll operations across multiple countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
You will be responsible for end-to-end payroll processing for assigned APAC payrolls, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with all applicable payroll laws and tax regulations across jurisdictions including India, China, Japan, South Korea, Australia, and Singapore. Key responsibilities include managing payroll inputs, performing thorough payroll analysis with gross-to-net reconciliations, and reviewing prior-period comparisons.
While this is an individual contributor role without direct reports, you will provide supervisory oversight of the broader APAC payroll landscape, driving process standardization and automation. You will oversee day-to-day payroll delivery, review and approve payrolls, and ensure the team meets accuracy and timeline requirements. You'll support complex migration projects and system integrations, particularly involving Workday HCM and Financials modules, and manage vendor governance by monitoring SLAs and recommending corrective actions.
You will collaborate cross-functionally with HR, Stock Administration, Benefits, Recruiting, Legal, and Accounting to streamline processes and support monthly/quarterly accounting close activities. Additional responsibilities include audit support, internal control design and implementation, process documentation oversight, and identifying continuous improvement opportunities.
Required qualifications include a bachelor's or master's degree in business, finance, or accounting, plus 10+ years of progressive payroll experience with public company background. Preferred experience includes hands-on India payroll knowledge and familiarity with other APAC countries. You must be highly proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivots, lookups) and Google Suite, with familiarity in Workday HCM and Financials. Strong compliance expertise, change management capability, proactive problem-solving, and excellent interpersonal skills are essential. Flexibility with work hours to support APAC region dynamics is required.
