You will shape how people experience the Checkr brand across all marketing surfaces as the Lead Brand Designer, Web. This role partners closely with Marketing and Revenue teams to own web brand standards and bring strategic thinking to every design decision.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design brand-forward web experiences that are polished, on-brand, and grounded in customer and business outcomes across all marketing surfaces
- Own and evolve brand standards, guidelines, and design systems for web
- Scope design initiatives and prioritize work across multiple concurrent projects and timelines
- Partner cross-functionally with Marketing and Revenue to maintain brand consistency across all web touchpoints
- Provide creative direction and feedback to other designers on web and brand projects
- Present and advocate for design decisions clearly and persuasively to peers and senior leadership
- Identify, hypothesize, and run ongoing user testing to evolve the web experience
- Ground design decisions in deep understanding of customer personas and end-to-end user experience
Checkr offers a hybrid work environment with hub locations in Denver, San Francisco, Nashville, and Santiago. Employees are expected to work from the office 3+ days per week. In-office perks include lunch five times weekly, commuter stipend, and wellness amenities. A relocation stipend may be available for those willing to relocate to a hub location.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of in-house or agency experience on tech or B2B brands
- Outstanding portfolio demonstrating mastery of typography, layout, storytelling, and art direction
- Fluency in Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud, plus experience with AI-assisted tools
- Deep knowledge of information architecture, usability, accessibility, and UI/UX best practices
- Systems-minded approach to building templates and reusable assets
- Experience developing brand standards and directing contractor or freelance creative work
- Strong point of view and high craft standards with confidence to present and defend work to senior leadership
- Track record managing multiple concurrent projects in fast-moving, iterative environments
- A-player mindset with bias for action, urgency, resilience through ambiguity, and ownership orientation
Nice to have:
- Front-end fluency (HTML/CSS) for prototyping or in-browser QA
- Illustration, photography, or art direction experience
- Experience in HR tech, trust and safety, or identity verification products
- Experience mentoring or giving creative direction to other designers
