ClickUp is seeking a Brand Design System Lead to own the visual identity and design infrastructure across the company's AI-native workspace platform. You will be the single point of excellence for ClickUp's brand, setting standards and ensuring cohesion across all touchpoints—from landing pages and social media to product marketing assets and keynote presentations.
Key responsibilities include owning and evolving ClickUp's brand design system (tokens, components, patterns, guidelines), serving as quality gatekeeper for brand-facing creative produced by AI tools and external agencies, and creating comprehensive design system documentation and component libraries that enable non-designers and AI tools to produce on-brand work independently. You'll design and ship high-volume web assets alongside high-impact brand moments, and audit/rebuild the brand design system from its current incomplete foundations, establishing proper documentation and structure.
The role requires 8+ years of brand/visual design experience with significant time owning or leading a design system. You should have an exceptional portfolio demonstrating mastery of typography, layout, color, motion, and systematic thinking. Critical to this role is active use of AI design tools (Midjourney, Firefly, Claude Design, Figma AI) and AI-assisted coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code) in your current workflow, with light GitHub familiarity. You must have built or adapted design systems specifically to enable high-quality AI-generated outputs at scale, with experience QA'ing and refining AI-generated design outputs and understanding where AI breaks down. You'll thrive as the sole designer on a team, making high-quality autonomous decisions with AI and tooling as force multipliers.
