Scopely is seeking a Lead 3D Artist to join the MONOPOLY GO! team in Barcelona on a hybrid basis. MONOPOLY GO! is a global phenomenon and the biggest mobile game launch in history, captivating millions of players worldwide.
In this role, you will establish and uphold the 3D artistic vision for each season in partnership with the Art Director, Principal Artist, and Content Leadership. You'll set the bar for quality, technical craft, and AI-assisted workflows across the team. Key responsibilities include identifying where AI-assisted workflows create meaningful production value, establishing standards for quality and consistency, and turning successful experimentation into repeatable practices the wider team can adopt.
You will own and continuously improve the 3D pipeline's standards and guideline documentation, partnering with Technical Art on implementation. As a people leader, you'll manage and mentor the 3D discipline, owning performance reviews, goal-setting, and team health. You'll participate in hiring to ensure new team members are the right fit and champion the team's culture. You'll also serve as the primary point of contact and voice for 3D, coordinating the discipline's work with the rest of production from planning through delivery.
Required qualifications include 8+ years of experience as a 3D artist in games, with 3+ years leading, mentoring, and setting the artistic bar for a team. You should have demonstrated experience developing, scaling, and driving adoption of AI-assisted creative workflows, with the judgment to evaluate their impact on quality, consistency, efficiency, and downstream production. A track record of shipping multiple mobile titles in casual/whimsical art styles is essential, along with experience designing, standardizing, or automating 3D production pipelines, including AI/ML-driven tooling. Expert proficiency across the toolset (Maya, Blender, 3ds Max, Substance, Unity) is required.
Bonus qualifications include experience managing or supporting multiple outsourcing partners while maintaining consistent quality standards, experience navigating brand guidelines and approval pipelines for externally-licensed IP, and a passion for playing and making games.
