Salary: GBP 47,501 - 55,665 / annual

As an IT Specialist, you will be the cornerstone of Chainguard's IT infrastructure and employee support operations. Your role bridges technical excellence with empathetic customer service, ensuring smooth operations across a distributed, global team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Deliver excellent technical support to employees via ticketing system, email, and Slack, with quick response times and accurate troubleshooting
- Serve as on-site IT support for the London office, maintaining network infrastructure, A/V systems, and IT assets
- Manage hardware procurement and vendor relationships globally, serving as the local point of contact for London-based vendors
- Lead employee onboarding by provisioning tools, systems, and hardware in collaboration with HR and Recruiting
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and peripheral issues; escalate complex problems appropriately
- Provide on-call support including some holiday coverage
- Travel as needed to support the organization
You will work across multiple time zones in a remote-first culture with a 2-day-per-week London office presence (near Farringdon station), with flexibility to work on-site daily if needed.
Requirements:
- Proven IT Support experience, ideally in remote or startup environments
- Hands-on experience with macOS and Linux
- Mobile Device Management (MDM) experience
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting Neat Hardware
- Strong understanding of IT Security best practices with desire to improve them
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working independently with minimal oversight
- Ability to balance independent work with team collaboration
- Adaptability in growing, changing environments
- Willingness to travel as required
