Salary: USD 146,000 - 194,000 / annual
Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking an IT Security Engineer to join its Space team. The Space team develops AI-powered capabilities for Space Domain Awareness, Space Control, and Command and Control systems for U.S. military and allied partners, including fully integrated hardware and software systems powered by Lattice OS.
In this role, you will own and maintain classified infrastructure end-to-end, ensuring systems remain compliant, resilient, and mission-ready. You'll work closely with security and engineering teams to apply, validate, and sustain hardened security controls across Windows, Linux, and virtual platforms.
Key responsibilities include:
- Administering Windows Server and Linux (RHEL) systems, maintaining approved hardened baselines
- Managing virtual infrastructure (VMware vSphere, vSAN, Horizon/VDI), including provisioning, patching, and STIG compliance
- Applying and maintaining STIGs across Windows, RHEL, and VMware using SCAP, SCC, and manual validation; documenting findings and remediation
- Configuring and maintaining enterprise services (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, WSUS/patch repositories)
- Developing and maintaining automation scripts and Ansible playbooks to enforce configuration consistency
- Monitoring system health, performance, and security posture; responding proactively to alerts and anomalies
- Supporting ISSO-led vulnerability scanning and remediation for CAT I/II/III findings within required timelines
- Maintaining backup and recovery procedures to meet RPO/RTO targets
- Building, documenting, and transitioning environments to steady-state operations following ATO
- Supporting IT Engineering Lead and ISSM during security assessments with technical demonstrations and compliance evidence collection
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience administering and hardening Windows Server and Linux (RHEL) in classified environments
- Hands-on VMware vSphere administration, including provisioning and patching
- Ability to apply and validate STIGs using SCAP/SCC tools
- Experience managing Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and enterprise patch management
- Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) and Ansible
- Currently possesses and is able to maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance with Full-Scope Polygraph
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with VMware vSAN and Horizon/VDI environments
- Familiarity with engineering applications such as Siemens NX, Teamcenter, or other CAD/CAM/CAE software
- Experience building and transitioning environments through the ATO process to steady-state operations
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, RHCSA, VCP, or equivalent
