You will join the team as an Investment & M&A Analyst based in Sydney, working closely with the CEO to identify, assess, and execute acquisition opportunities supporting AMP's growth strategy. This is a hands-on role spanning deal sourcing, founder and broker conversations, financial analysis, due diligence, and transaction execution. The work moves quickly—you may research acquisition targets and contact founders one day, then analyze a business, coordinate diligence, or prepare investment recommendations the next. Key responsibilities include: - Researching software, SaaS, and eCommerce markets to identify acquisition targets - Building and maintaining a database of companies, founders, advisers, and opportunities - Proactively contacting founders and developing relationships before they are ready to sell - Speaking regularly with brokers and advisers to uncover and assess new opportunities - Screening opportunities against AMP's strategic and investment criteria - Analyzing financial performance, revenue quality, customer concentration, growth, and key risks - Building valuation models, returns analyses, and transaction scenarios - Coordinating commercial, financial, legal, product, and technology due diligence - Preparing concise investment papers and recommendations for AMP's leadership - Supporting negotiations and transaction execution, keeping actions and stakeholders on track - Using AI, automation, and data tools to improve the speed and quality of sourcing and analysis You will own deal sourcing, relationship development, pipeline management, opportunity assessment, financial analysis, and due diligence execution. The role requires comfort working with incomplete information, switching priorities, and finding practical ways to keep opportunities moving. Requirements: - Relevant experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, corporate development, transaction advisory, or commercial finance - Experience with software, SaaS, technology, or eCommerce businesses is highly regarded - Commercial curiosity and understanding of how businesses operate, grow, and create value - Innovative, proactive mindset; comfortable creating opportunities rather than waiting for them - Ability to combine strong analysis with action—equally willing to build a model, contact a founder, or follow up with an adviser - Ability to form practical views with incomplete information and know when further detail is required - Confident communication and ability to build trust with founders, advisers, and senior leaders - Persistent, resourceful, and positive when priorities change or deals encounter obstacles - Strong ownership mentality, follow-through, and care for quality outcomes - Sound judgment, attention to detail, integrity, and discretion
