Cognite, an industrial AI and data solutions company, is seeking a Global Tax Manager to oversee international tax compliance, strategy, and reporting across a global footprint spanning Norway, India, Japan, the UK, and the UAE, while reporting to US headquarters in Phoenix. Key responsibilities include: • International Tax Compliance: Oversee preparation and filing of corporate income tax returns for international subsidiaries (Norway, India, Japan, UK, UAE) in coordination with local third-party tax providers. • US International Tax (Outbound): Manage US tax compliance for foreign operations, including Forms 5471, 8858, Pillar Two compliance, GILTI, Subpart F, and Foreign Tax Credits. • Transfer Pricing: Maintain, update, and enforce global transfer pricing documentation and intercompany agreements aligned with OECD guidelines. • Tax Provision & Accounting: Support quarterly and annual global tax provision calculations (ASC 740 / IFRS equivalent), managing effective tax rate calculations and deferred tax assets/liabilities. • Cross-Border Advisory: Provide strategic tax advice on cross-border transactions, permanent establishment risks, withholding taxes, and funding structures. • Audit Management: Serve as primary contact for international tax audits, coordinating with local tax authorities and internal finance teams. The role requires navigating complex tax regimes across multiple jurisdictions: India's withholding tax (TDS) and transfer pricing; Norway and UK corporate tax and VAT; Japan's multi-layered corporate taxes; and UAE's corporate tax regime. Required: Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's in Taxation, CPA, or JD preferred). 6–9 years corporate tax experience with 3+ years focused on international tax (mix of public accounting and multinational in-house experience preferred). Strong knowledge of ASC 740, US international tax reform, OECD Pillar Two, and foreign tax concepts. Proficiency with corporate tax software (OneSource, Vertex) and global ERP platforms (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle). Ability to translate complex tax laws into actionable business insights for non-tax executives.
