Brightline is a national youth mental health provider delivering virtual and in-person care to families. As an Insurance and Coding Specialist, you'll own the accuracy and integrity of the revenue cycle from eligibility verification through final reimbursement. You'll manage the full lifecycle of insurance claims and payments: verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to services, document findings accurately in the practice management system, and identify discrepancies that could impact reimbursement. You'll post insurance and patient payments accurately, research payment variances and underpayments, and track down missing payments. Claims follow-up and denial management are core responsibilities. You'll perform timely follow-up on outstanding claims, work denied and rejected claims, and submit corrected claims, appeals, and supporting documentation. You'll also conduct routine provider documentation and coding audits to ensure accuracy and compliance, reviewing CPT, ICD-10-CM, and modifier usage for appropriate code selection, and identifying documentation deficiencies and coding opportunities. This role reports to the Manager of Revenue Cycle and sits at the center of Brightline's financial operations. Your attention to detail directly protects the organization's financial health and ensures reimbursement flows smoothly so clinical care never has to pause. Required qualifications: high school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred), AAPC Coding Certification (CPC or equivalent), and demonstrated experience with insurance eligibility verification, payment posting, claims follow-up, denial management, and provider documentation/coding audits. You'll need strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
