Fintual is building a new pension fund administrator (AFP) in Chile with modern technology from day one. This is a foundational team role bridging deep pension operations expertise with software engineering. You will be the operational specialist and internal reference for investment and treasury processes at the AFP. Your core mission is to bring hands-on operational knowledge of daily AFP workflows to the engineering team, translating complex regulatory and operational requirements into clear, actionable software specifications. Key responsibilities: **Operations & Monitoring**: Oversee liquidation, custody, reconciliation, valuation, and quota-value calculations for pension funds. Manage fund treasury: bank account operations, cash reconciliation, bulk payments (benefits, inter-AFP transfers, refunds), and liquidity forecasting. **Operational Reference**: Serve as the expert and internal authority on investment and treasury operations—domestic and international liquidation, fund allocation, capital events, and regulatory reporting to the Superintendence of Pensions (SP). **Requirements Translation**: Document operational workflows, edge cases, and critical business rules so the engineering team can build robust, complete software without gaps. **Technology Co-Design**: Work directly with the engineering team to design, validate, and test modern systems supporting all AFP operations. **Continuous Improvement**: Monitor regulatory changes affecting processes, propose automations and improvements, prioritize initiatives, and proactively identify operational risks in new developments. Recommend preventive controls based on industry experience. **Acceptance Criteria & Testing**: Define functional tests and acceptance criteria for operational modules as they are released. **Industry Liaison**: Participate in industry operational forums (DCV, custodians, banks, other AFPs for transfer liquidation) and support interactions with the Superintendence of Pensions on operational matters. You do not need to code, but you must speak the same language as the tech team and understand how real-world pension operations differ from regulatory theory. **Requirements:** *Essential:* - Minimum 3 years of direct, hands-on experience working in AFP operations in Chile - Deep, practical knowledge of the complete investment operation cycle: fund allocation, liquidation, custody, valuation, accounting, and regulatory reporting - Practical knowledge of pension fund treasury: bank accounts, bank reconciliation, bulk payments, liquidity management - Daily experience with pension management systems used by Chilean AFPs - Demonstrated ability to map and document complex processes clearly, cleanly, and in a structured manner - Strong affinity for technology tools and genuine willingness to work closely with software engineering teams *Desirable:* - Experience with AFP.net (Sonda), PreviRed, or other core pension industry systems - Current knowledge of Chilean regulatory framework (DL 3.500, Law 21.735, SP compendium and circulars) - Prior experience in AFP data migration projects, new module implementations, or operational system improvements - Familiarity with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) or prior experience embedded in software development teams
