Fintual is building a new AFP (pension fund administrator) in Chile with modern technology from day one. This role is for an experienced operations professional to bridge the gap between complex regulatory and operational realities and the engineering team building the software systems. You will be the operational expert and internal reference for the entire collections lifecycle—from debt detection through regularization. Your deep, practical knowledge of how AFP collections actually work (not just how regulations describe it) is critical to building robust software that handles real-world complexity. Key Responsibilities: • Supervise collections processes from launch: daily DNP (non-payment notices) control, presumed default detection and clarification, DNPA generation, pre-judicial and judicial collections via SUCC (Unified Collections System), payment regularization, and regulatory reporting. • Serve as the internal collections reference, providing complete debt lifecycle knowledge: information sources, counterparties, regulatory timelines, and real response times. • Document operational flows, edge cases, and critical business rules in clear, structured formats so the engineering team can build reliable software without gaps. • Collaborate directly with the tech team on design, validation, and testing of modern systems supporting AFP operations. • Monitor regulatory changes, propose improvements and automations, identify operational risks in new developments, and recommend preventive controls based on industry experience. • Define functional tests and acceptance criteria for operational modules as they are released. • Participate in industry operational forums (SUCC, other AFPs, PreviRed) and support interactions with the Superintendence of Pensions on operational matters. Requirements: Indispensable: • Minimum 3 years of direct, hands-on experience in AFP collections operations in Chile. • Practical knowledge of debt detection: DNP control, presumed default clarification, DNPA generation. • Practical knowledge of pre-judicial and judicial collections: counterparties, employer notification channels, regulatory timelines, calculation of adjustments, interest and surcharges, debt regularization. • Daily experience with pension management systems used by Chilean AFPs. • Demonstrated ability to map and document complex processes clearly, cleanly, and in structured format. • Strong affinity with technology tools and genuine willingness to work closely with software engineering teams. Desirable: • Experience with AFP.net (Sonda), PreviRed - Collections Management Services, SUCC, or other core pension industry systems. • Current knowledge of Chilean regulatory framework (DL 3.500, Law 21.735, Superintendence compendium and circulars). • Prior experience in data migration projects, new module implementations, or operational system improvements in AFPs. • Familiarity with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) or prior experience embedded in software development teams.
