Fintual is building a new AFP (pension fund administrator) in Chile with modern technology from day one. This role bridges operational expertise and software engineering to design and build robust systems for AFP affiliation and transfer processes. You will be the operational expert and translator between the complex regulatory/operational world of Chilean pension administration and the engineering team. Your deep knowledge of how AFP affiliation and transfers actually work—not just how regulations describe them—is critical to building software that handles real-world complexity, edge cases, and exceptions. Key responsibilities: **Operations**: Directly supervise affiliation and transfer processes from launch, operating systems for calendars, file exchange, account transfers, rejections, and regularizations. **Operational Reference**: Be the internal expert on affiliation and inter-AFP transfers. Provide knowledge of process stages, timelines, information exchange, and exception handling to define how each process should operate. **Requirements Translation**: Document operational flows, edge cases, and critical business rules so the engineering team can build reliable software without gaps. **Technology Co-Design**: Collaborate directly with the tech team on design, validation, and testing of modern systems supporting AFP operations. **Continuous Improvement**: Monitor regulatory changes, propose improvements and automations, identify operational risks in new developments, and suggest preventive controls based on industry experience. **Acceptance Criteria & Testing**: Support definition of functional tests and acceptance criteria for operational modules as they are released. **Industry Liaison**: Participate in industry operational forums (transfer committees, other AFPs, PreviRed) and support interactions with the Superintendence of Pensions on operational matters. You do not need to code, but you must speak the language of the tech team and translate regulatory complexity into clear requirements grounded in how these processes actually work in practice. **Requirements** Indispensable: - Minimum 3 years of direct operational experience in AFP affiliation and/or transfer processes in Chile - Knowledge of affiliation pathways, including collection-based affiliation, regularizations, and transfers - Practical knowledge of transfers including: calendar, files involved and their content, systems involved in exchange, account transfers, account consolidation (canje), movement transfers, and validation - Daily experience with pension management systems used in Chilean AFPs - Demonstrated ability to map and document complex processes clearly, cleanly, and in a structured manner - Strong affinity with technology tools and genuine willingness to work closely with software engineering teams Desirable: - Experience with AFP.net (Sonda), CMH (PreviRed), or other core pension industry systems - Current knowledge of Chilean regulatory framework (DL 3.500, Law 21.735, Superintendence compendium and circulars) - Prior experience in data migration projects, new module implementations, or operational system improvements in AFPs - Familiarity with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) or prior experience embedded in software development teams
