Kraken, one of the world's longest-standing crypto platforms trusted by over 10 million individuals and institutions, is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to join the Core Infrastructure – Platforms team. This team is responsible for the foundational platform powering all Kraken on-premises and cloud infrastructure, bringing together compute, storage, orchestration, and more into a unified, reliable platform.
In this role, you will own and resolve infrastructure support requests across the existing Nomad platform, helping engineering teams remove blockers and keep workloads running reliably. You'll help operate and improve existing infrastructure while contributing to its gradual migration toward the next-generation platform. You'll gain hands-on experience across OpenStack platform operations (compute via Nova, networking via Neutron, and provisioning via Ironic), and learn storage systems fundamentals including Ceph architecture, operations, and troubleshooting.
Key responsibilities include handling feature requests and support tickets for both OpenStack and Storage systems; working with senior engineers to troubleshoot complex issues across the full stack; understanding how storage integrates with infrastructure through OpenStack Cinder or Kubernetes CSI; building automation and tooling to improve team efficiency and reduce toil; contributing to documentation and runbooks; and participating in on-call rotation to maintain platform reliability.
You'll work closely with SRE, Networking, and Security teams to deliver a stable, scalable, and secure foundation for all workloads. This is an opportunity to join a senior group of engineers and help evolve and scale Kraken's OpenStack platform as a core part of the next-generation infrastructure.
