Figma is seeking an Immigration Program Manager to lead and support the company's growing immigration and global mobility programs. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for visa-sponsored employees, managing immigration cases and compliance while delivering a high-touch employee experience. You'll oversee a high-volume portfolio of immigration cases across US, EMEA, JAPAC, and LATAM regions, including permanent residence processes (PERM, I-140, AOS, ILR) and work authorization renewals.
Key responsibilities include coordinating with outside immigration counsel on case petitions, RFE responses, and compliance matters; partnering with People Partners and Talent Acquisition to assess sponsorship feasibility for new hires and internal transfers; developing and maintaining employee-facing immigration resources, FAQs, and playbooks; monitoring regulatory changes and managing internal reporting and I-9 compliance; and supporting international relocations and global mobility initiatives including M&A and international expansion.
You'll work cross-functionally with teams across People, Finance, Legal, Talent Acquisition, and Payroll to improve processes, resources, reporting, budgeting, and vendor management. The role requires deep expertise in US nonimmigrant and immigrant visa categories (H-1B, L-1, O-1, TN, OPT, PERM, EB categories, AOS, EADs), experience managing multiple vendors, and strong project management and communication skills to translate complex legal concepts for diverse stakeholders.
This is a full-time position available from Figma's US hubs (San Francisco or New York) or remotely within the United States. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of immigration management experience at a global technology company or employment-based immigration law firm, with additional expertise in international assignments, M&A immigration support, and cross-border tax concepts being valuable assets.
