The Boring Company is seeking a Human Resources Manager for its Las Vegas operations. The company was founded to solve traffic congestion through underground tunnel networks and is developing technology to increase tunneling speed and decrease costs by a factor of 10 or more, with the goal of enabling Hyperloop adoption and rapid transit across densely populated regions. In this role, you will serve as the primary HR point of contact for all HR matters including benefits, compensation, training, payroll, and employee relations. You will manage performance reviews, investigations, and corrective actions, including leading terminations. You will maintain productive relationships with Las Vegas managers through regular meetings to discuss morale, performance, and areas for improvement. You will review and respond to complex HR matters escalated due to risk, urgency, or severity. Key responsibilities include managing the integration, configuration, and administration of HR systems; outlining team priorities and timelines; managing team performance toward goals; serving as the primary point of contact for the entire Las Vegas operation; partnering with HR operations on onboarding, workers' compensation, and leave of absence management; approving timecards and modifying pay rates; implementing one-off payments; ensuring bi-weekly payment of salaried and hourly employees; facilitating new-hire onboarding including offer letter generation and background check audits; and leading HR initiatives and projects. The position may require extended hours and weekend work, with up to 20% travel for short and extended trips as needed. REQUIREMENTS: Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree - 5+ years of experience in an HR leadership position Preferred Skills and Experience: - 8+ years of experience in an HR leadership position - SHRM-SCP certification - Acute attention to detail and strong multitasking skills - Ability to work independently and with little direction - Ability to quickly and reasonably prioritize tasks - Strong communication skills with ability to communicate with internal/external customers, vendors, and management in both formal and informal situations - Analytical mindset that thrives on formulating strategy and presenting data - Highly organized with a strong sense of urgency
