Veo is a leading shared micromobility provider operating bikes and scooters across 60+ cities in North America. As the first profitable micromobility company in the region, Veo designs and manufactures vehicles, hardware, and software in-house while operating local markets directly.
As HR Generalist, you will be a key partner to operations and People teams, supporting employees and leaders across multiple markets. This hybrid role (4 days/week onsite in Santa Monica) focuses on employee relations, performance management, compliance, and people programs while supporting core HR processes for a distributed workforce.
Key responsibilities include:
**Employee Relations:** Serve as trusted partner to managers and employees on ER matters. Conduct timely, confidential investigations into harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and policy violations. Manage disciplinary actions and conflict resolution. Coach managers on performance management and complex situations. Analyze ER trends and develop proactive strategies.
**HR Business Partnership:** Partner with Operations leadership across markets to support workforce needs. Provide guidance on engagement, retention, and performance management. Support workforce planning and organizational changes. Act as trusted advisor on people-related matters.
**Compliance & Risk Management:** Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws. Ensure consistent policy application across the organization. Support leave management, accommodations, and workers' compensation. Review workplace incidents and personal injury claims. Develop and deliver HR training.
**People Operations Support:** Partner with People Ops team on onboarding, offboarding, and lifecycle transitions. Support HRIS management and process improvements in Rippling. Help scale HR processes and systems for rapid growth. Ensure consistent, compliant processes across distributed teams.
You'll need a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in HR, Business Administration, or related field, plus 5+ years conducting workplace investigations with preference for harassment/discrimination/retaliation experience. Strong knowledge of employment law, demonstrated ER expertise, systems mindset with technical aptitude for HRIS platforms, ability to support geographically distributed teams, and excellent communication skills are essential.
