Mistral is a full-stack AI company providing frontier models, developer tools, applications, and compute infrastructure. They partner with enterprises across finance, manufacturing, defense, healthcare, and the public sector to build customized AI systems. As an HR Operations Manager on the People team, you will establish and scale HR infrastructure across the APAC region. This role bridges day-to-day compliance, payroll execution, and market expansion, working closely with local and international stakeholders to own the end-to-end employee lifecycle. Key responsibilities include: - Managing and executing monthly payroll for employees and Employer of Record (EoR) staff across APAC, ensuring timely and accurate compensation - Overseeing the complete onboarding journey, including contractual elements, labor amendments, and HRIS record management - Resolving employee inquiries and coordinating international work visas for business travel and team mobility - Leading HR expansion initiatives when entering new countries, establishing local benefits administration and compliant operations from scratch - Optimizing regional operations through vendor audits, payroll provider benchmarking, and workflow automation - Implementing people-related procedures and best practices that mitigate company risk and align with local labor regulations You will act as a practical builder, optimizing everything from everyday employee inquiries to complex vendor management. By bridging legal compliance with a collaborative approach, you will support regional growth while fostering a compliant and organized workplace. Required qualifications: 8-15 years of progressive HR experience in high-growth or startup environments; deep expertise in Singaporean labor law and employment regulations; experience navigating multiple APAC markets (South Korea, Australia, India, Japan); solid understanding of regional payroll mechanisms, local tax laws, and EoR frameworks; proficiency with modern HR technology including HRIS and payroll software; hands-on builder mindset with proven track record of streamlining workflows; strong communication and problem-solving skills; Singapore citizenship or Permanent Residency status required.
