Oshi Health is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to manage insurance accounts receivable and ensure accurate, timely posting and reconciliation of payments. This role focuses on maximizing reimbursement through proactive claim follow-up, denial resolution, payment investigation, and cash reconciliation.
Key responsibilities include managing assigned insurance accounts receivable to reduce aging balances; following up with insurance payers on outstanding claims, underpayments, and denials; investigating and resolving claim denials by submitting corrected claims and appeals; reviewing claim edits and rejections; accurately posting insurance payments and adjustments into the billing system; performing daily payment reconciliation against electronic remittance advice (ERA), explanation of benefits (EOB), and bank deposits; researching and resolving unapplied cash and payment variances; reconciling payer payments against contracted rates; maintaining accurate documentation of AR activities and communications; responding professionally to patient inquiries regarding insurance claims and billing; maintaining open communication with providers, payers, and internal stakeholders; collaborating with cross-functional teams including Eligibility & Benefits, Credentialing, Finance, and Clinical Operations; analyzing AR and denial data to identify trends and improvement opportunities; monitoring and reporting on AR performance metrics; supporting month-end close activities and audit requests; and identifying recurring issues to recommend process improvements.
The role reports to the Lead Revenue Cycle and requires a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or relevant coursework, 2+ years of healthcare revenue cycle experience with focus on accounts receivable or insurance billing, knowledge of medical billing and payer reimbursement, experience resolving denials and payment discrepancies, proficiency with EMR and medical billing systems, strong analytical and organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and proficiency with Google Workspace. The position is full-time, Monday-Friday 9am-6pm EST, and candidates must currently reside in one of the specified states (Arizona, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, or Virginia) and plan to remain there throughout employment.
