Positive Development is the largest provider of developmental therapy for autistic children in the United States, using a play-based, family-centered approach. The company works with children and coaches their parents to strengthen everyday interactions at home, serving Medicaid and commercially insured families across multiple states. You will own full-cycle recruiting for Child Development Specialists—the clinicians who deliver therapy and coach families. This is a high-impact role: every hire directly enables a family to begin therapy instead of waiting. The position recruits nationally, with assigned territories that may shift quarterly based on capacity needs. Key responsibilities include sourcing and screening candidates through outbound campaigns (Handshake, Indeed, referrals, university and community channels), building and maintaining pipelines across changing markets, assessing fit and availability, and ensuring candidates have an accurate picture of the work. You will manage the full candidate lifecycle from offer through onboarding handoff, maintain clean data in Ashby, partner with clinical hiring managers, and analyze funnel metrics to optimize conversion. Success is measured by hiring at least 12 Child Development Specialists per month, ensuring hires are genuinely excited about the work and retain beyond initial weeks, and maintaining a healthy pipeline that can absorb new market assignments. The role emphasizes long-term hiring: the company seeks recruiters who find candidates drawn to building a career, not passing through, because clinical outcomes depend on consistent therapist-family relationships. You must have personally carried 10+ hires per month (or 100+ annually) in a full-cycle recruiting role, hands-on outbound sourcing experience with pipelines you built yourself, and 2+ years recruiting in healthcare, staffing, or high-volume environments. You work with data—knowing conversion rates and adjusting strategy accordingly—and are self-directed enough to manage a full desk across unfamiliar markets. Nice-to-haves include Ashby or modern ATS experience, Handshake/campus/community sourcing, behavioral or allied health recruiting background, and experience in fast-growing, changing organizations.
