Factory is building software development agents that help enterprise engineering teams ship code autonomously. The company recently raised $150M Series C and is backed by top-tier investors including Khosla Ventures, Sequoia, and Blackstone. As Head of Workplace, you will build and scale the physical and experiential infrastructure for Factory as it expands globally. This role bridges strategy and execution: you'll own multi-year space strategy, capacity planning, and same-day event logistics. Key responsibilities include: Operations & Systems: Build vendor relationships, budgets, tooling, and processes that enable workplace scaling. Manage the workplace budget, track spend and utilization, and hire/develop a team as needed. Expansion & Space Planning: Lead site selection, lease negotiations (with legal/finance support), and buildout for new offices globally. Own headcount-driven capacity planning and forecast space needs against hiring plans. Partner with local counsel, contractors, and vendors to establish compliant, functional offices in new markets. Develop repeatable playbooks to accelerate market entry. Employee & Visitor Experience: Own the day-to-day experience across all offices—the details that make people want to come in and bring others. Design and run onsite programs from daily operations to milestone moments (offsites, board meetings, exec visits). Set standards for how visitors, candidates, and guests experience the company. Build feedback loops with employees to continuously improve workplace experience. Build and lead a team of Office Coordinators. Events: Plan and execute company-wide events (offsites, all-hands, external gatherings). Manage event budgets, vendors, and logistics end-to-end. Partner with leadership and cross-functional teams on programming that reinforces culture and connection. You bring 7+ years in workplace, facilities, or related operations roles, including experience opening or scaling offices across multiple markets/countries. You have a track record of building systems and playbooks, not just running programs. You excel at project management and vendor negotiation, own budgets, and are accountable for outcomes. You have genuine hospitality instincts—noticing details others miss and caring about how people feel in a space. You have startup DNA: energized by ambiguity, move fast, and are willing to move furniture or present capacity plans to leadership. You have excellent judgment on when to build for scale versus keep things scrappy. International real estate experience is preferred.
