Prime Intellect is building the open superintelligence stack—infrastructure for frontier AI labs to conduct post-training at scale. The company has raised $150M from top-tier investors including Founders Fund, Radical Ventures, NVIDIA, and prominent AI operators like Andrej Karpathy.
As Head of Talent, you will own recruiting end-to-end as Prime Intellect scales from ~40 to ~100 people over the next 12 months, with heavy focus on frontier research and infrastructure engineering—two of the most competitive talent markets in tech. This is a founding recruiting leader role reporting directly to the founders with full function ownership, meaningful equity, and direct input into all strategic hiring decisions.
Key responsibilities include: personally running the company's most critical searches across research, infrastructure, and leadership; sourcing passive candidates through your network and targeted outreach; closing candidates against competing offers from frontier labs and hyperscalers; designing the sourcing motion for frontier research talent (labs, PhD programs, open-source contributors) and elite systems engineers; building closing playbooks tailored to what moves technical talent (research autonomy, compute access, publication norms, equity, mission); establishing tooling and pipeline visibility to support 60+ hires annually without compromising quality; defining and enforcing hiring bar across the company; hiring and leading a small recruiting team over time while staying deeply hands-on; building interview architecture with rubrics, calibration, and consistent decision-making; owning recruiting operations and candidate experience end-to-end; and partnering with finance and founders on compensation philosophy, leveling, and equity strategy.
You will operate as a player-coach: running your own searches while building systems and eventually the team underneath you. This role requires strong judgment on candidate quality, high ownership, direct communication, and close partnership with founders on consequential decisions.
