Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Director-level leader to own end-to-end strategic supply chain for raw materials and energetics. This role addresses a critical constraint: as Anduril scales production of advanced defense systems powered by Lattice OS, material availability has become a primary rate-limiter.
You will lead a high-performing team of commodity managers, strategic sourcing leads, and technical sourcing engineers across multiple global sites. Responsibilities span commodity strategy and roadmap development for critical raw materials (germanium, gallium, titanium), rare earth magnets, and energetic materials (propellants, explosives, pyrotechnics, solid rocket motors, warheads).
Key accountabilities include: defining multi-year global sourcing strategies; building deep sub-tier visibility beyond Tier 1 suppliers down to processors, smelters, refiners, and chemical synthesis partners; leading high-stakes negotiations for master service agreements, development agreements, and long-term contracts; drilling through multi-tier value chains to identify geopolitical vulnerabilities and single points of failure; building analytical frameworks for volatile, geopolitically-influenced commodity markets (index-based pricing, hedging, cost roadmaps); and conducting regular operational and strategic reviews with C-suite leadership.
Many of these markets are geographically concentrated, export-controlled, or served by supply bases too small to meet demand. The role carries unusual latitude to bring creative commercial structures and capital to bear on problems that cannot be negotiated away—including helping build supply capacity where it doesn't exist.
You will partner closely with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Government Relations, and Executive Leadership to ensure Anduril is never rate-limited by material availability. The role requires 10+ years in raw materials & energetics strategic sourcing or defense-critical supply chains, 5+ years building and scaling procurement/supply chain teams, deep expertise in critical minerals and energetic systems, and proven track record managing complex multi-million-dollar commercial agreements. Travel up to 25-50% domestically and internationally is required.
