As Head of Product Operations, you will build and lead PermitFlow's Product Operations function from its current early stage into a strategic, well-staffed organization. This is a player-coach role requiring both hands-on execution and team leadership.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and leading a team of Product Operations Managers who support Product, Engineering, Design, GTM, Customer Success, and Operations stakeholders
- Defining PermitFlow's Product operating system: planning processes, PRD standards, launch processes, product metrics, customer feedback systems, and cross-functional collaboration models
- Establishing consistent quality standards and review processes across the Product organization
- Owning systems that support product planning, execution, launches, and measurement to ensure scalability and clarity as the company grows
- Partnering with leadership to improve product execution and directly impact business metrics including activation, retention, customer satisfaction, and product velocity
- Setting the vision for how AI transforms Product Operations workflows and driving adoption of AI tools across the team
- Doing hands-on Product Operations work yourself, particularly on systems and programs that set quality standards
The role requires 8+ years in Product Operations, Business Operations, Strategy & Operations, or B2B SaaS product leadership, with experience supporting complex workflow products and data-heavy systems. You need 3+ years leading and managing teams in high-growth startups or technology companies, proven experience building Product Operations functions from early-stage to scale, exceptional operational judgment, and a player-coach mentality. Active AI fluency and integration of AI tools into daily operations is essential.
PermitFlow's HQ is in New York City with a hybrid schedule (Monday, Wednesday, Friday in-office). The company prefers NYC-based candidates or those open to relocation. The posting notes flexibility in calibrating the role level from Manager through Head of Product Operations based on candidate experience and scope of impact.
