Epoch AI is scaling from ~30 to ~70 people over the next 6–8 months across multiple countries and employment arrangements. This is a newly created leadership role to own all people and events functions during this critical growth phase.
You will oversee three core functions: Recruiting, HR, and Events. The role reports directly to the COO and manages a team of five: two operations associates/recruiters, a talent scout, an events lead, and a people operations associate.
This is a building role with significant infrastructure scaling required. You'll be responsible for managing and guiding your team, scaling hiring and people systems to support 2x organizational growth, overseeing the events calendar, contributing to people strategy, and ensuring staff are well supported. During peak hiring periods, you'll personally direct key hiring rounds and hands-on recruiting work.
The role is fully remote with optional access to the Berkeley, California office for Bay Area-based candidates. A minimum of 4 hours daily overlap with PST working times is required.
