As Head of Legal Engineering for Spain and Portugal, you will establish and lead the Legal Engineering function from the Madrid office. This is a Director-level role combining legal practice expertise, product fluency, enterprise change management, and commercial leadership.
Key responsibilities include: standing up the Legal Engineering function from scratch with operating rhythm, quality standards, and capacity models; hiring and developing exceptional Legal Engineers and building a manager layer of Team Leads with real decision rights; partnering with Go-to-Market and Engagement teams on priority accounts, pilots, and rollouts; acting as lead legal architect on selected enterprise engagements, translating legal problems into Legora workflows and creating reusable playbooks; overseeing complex multi-stakeholder programmes with clear governance and outcomes; building trusted relationships with Managing Partners, General Counsels, and senior legal stakeholders; representing the market's voice internally to Product; and shaping Legora's thought leadership on AI and legal work in Spain.
You will stay close enough to product and delivery work to coach credibly while investing time in hiring, leadership development, senior relationships, market strategy, and cross-functional execution. The role requires strong product knowledge, ability to translate legal and technical complexity into business outcomes, excellence in project and programme management, sophisticated stakeholder management, and thought leadership grounded in first-hand experience. You will have autonomy to shape how Legal Engineering lands in this strategically important market while maintaining connection to Legora's global standards.
