As Head of Legal Engineering for Italy, you will establish and lead the Legal Engineering function from the Milan office. This is a Director-level role combining legal practice expertise, product fluency, enterprise change management, and commercial leadership.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building the Legal Engineering team from the ground up, including hiring exceptional Legal Engineers and developing a manager layer of Team Leads with real decision rights and succession paths.
- Setting the craft bar, operating rhythm, quality standards, and capacity model for the function.
- Partnering closely with Go-to-Market and Engagement teams on priority accounts, pilots, rollouts, and escalations.
- Acting as lead legal architect on selected enterprise engagements, translating legal problems into Legora workflows and turning successful delivery into reusable playbooks.
- Overseeing complex, multi-stakeholder programmes with clear governance, owners, outcomes, and risk management.
- Building trusted relationships with Managing Partners, General Counsels, Heads of Innovation, and Legal Operations leaders.
- Representing the market's voice inside Legora, translating client patterns and product gaps into actionable input for Product.
- Shaping Legora's point of view on AI and legal work in Italy through executive forums, events, and writing.
- Providing direct, evidence-based feedback and coaching while maintaining high performance and values standards.
You will stay close enough to the product and client work to coach credibly while dedicating increasing time to hiring, leadership development, senior relationships, market strategy, and cross-functional execution. The role offers autonomy to shape how Legal Engineering lands in a strategically important market while maintaining connection to Legora's global standards.
Strong performance requires product knowledge and application, clear communication of complex legal and technical concepts to business outcomes, sophisticated project and programme management, stakeholder management across competing interests, and thought leadership grounded in first-hand experience with AI and legal work.
