Blank Street is seeking a General Manager for their Brooklyn location to lead all aspects of single-unit operations. You will take full ownership of the store, managing a hospitality team through hiring, training, development, and coaching. Your responsibilities include creating an engaging team culture, managing schedules and payroll compliance, overseeing inventory and vendor relations, and maintaining operational excellence across food and beverage quality, safety, and cleanliness standards.
You'll spend 50-70% of your time working behind the bar, leading by example in customer service and product execution. You'll drive business growth by managing financial performance, increasing average order value, and meeting sales goals while building meaningful relationships with neighborhood businesses. You'll also oversee staff training and coffee accreditations, manage the auditing platform to ensure compliance, and champion continuous improvement initiatives.
The role requires 4+ years of experience managing single-store unit operations in high-growth hospitality or consumer brands. You must have strong expertise in specialty coffee and espresso, experience hiring and developing hospitality teams, and proficiency with inventory and supply chain management. Experience in unionized environments is a plus. You'll work full-time, 45 hours per week across 5 days, with required availability on 2 peak days (typically Friday-Sunday).
